ramp. the man is identified as michael peterson from cedar falls. waterloo police say he was found hurt in an alley. he later died at the hospital. an autopsy is being done -- but police say, they are not suspecting foul play. he was 52. an iowa man accused of murdering his girlfriend will have his future decided by a judge. eddie hicks, of dubuque, waved his right to a jury trial. he pleaded not guilty in the death of kahdyesha lemon. prosecutors say he stabbed her at least 20 times last year at her dubuque home. burglaries at multiple businesses -- and now three people are arrested. police say these three broke into three different businesses in manchester -- including a car wash and a pet store. they're all facing burglary-related charges. investigators say a cigarette might have caused a fire near a culver's restaurant. it happened in dubuque during the lunch hour yesterday. the actual restuarant didn't catch fire -- but the shed behind it did. inside is where they keep the dumpsters. those are also damaged. when the fire broke out -- the
i'm really glad it was just the shed though, because it could've been a lot worse." the restaurant stayed open, but they closed the drive through window. a fire and gas explosion destroyed a home outside chicago. firefighters say two people were injured -- no word on how badly they're hurt. no one was home at the time. one person is missing after a plane crash. it happened in connecticut. crews say the pilot was taken to the hospital and they haven't been able to find a passenger. the crash also knocked down some power lines. no word on what caused it. a police chase ends with a man tased and arrested in the middle of a busy highway. you can see the man driving in the grey pickup truck here in texas. he eventually gets out of his truck and starts running into heavy traffic. an officer runs after him and tases him in the middle of the road
he was then checked out by paramedics -- and arrested. a man is out the hospital this morning after being attacked by a bear. he was jogging on a california trail when he saw a bear. police say as he backed away from the animal -- another bear he didn't see attacked him. "i tried to run past it, cause it, it just came down and got me. he was able to break free and run back home despite having gashes to his head, legs and feet. a mother says her child's homework was biased against the police. the assignment talks about recent cases of police- involved shootings of african americans. in the article, a mother says her sons question, why they have to

st. louis. officer blake snyder was shot and killed in the line of duty last week. the suspect is 18 years old. police say he started firing at snyder right as the officer showed up to look into a disturbance call. a baby has died after being left in a hot car. it happened in fresno, california. investigators say the child's grandmother was watching him. they don't know why she left him inside the car. she was inside her apartment "i know at the end of the day grandson his life back." police are questioning the boy's grandmother who needed medical attention herself because she was so distraught over what happened. the picture doesn't gives us a great look at the suspect, but waterloo police are hoping someone knows something -- and steps forward. la placita was held up on sunday. a man came in with a
